Utah

I have this odd affinity towards Utah, based mostly on seeing the Great Salt Lake from the air while landing in Salt Lake City en route to Idaho. Coming over the mountains outside of SLC, we pass over the lake, and land. On nice days, the water is a pretty blue. Then, when we take off and head on up to Idaho, we fly over the lake once again, seeing pretty salt patterns on the shores, and observing the desert in the distance. It's quite unlike anything I've seen before.

I saw these out my plane window, and I can only guess they are used to collect salt. Since they appear to be on the surface of the lake, I can't say for sure. Snow-covered mountains in Utah Approaching Salt Lake City
