I could just refer to this as "downtown", and not even mention New York, and it would fit. This is the core of NYC, and the core of the USA, even a center of the world. Huge buildings, from Wall Street (which is never touched directly by the sun), to the World Trade Center, some of the tallest buildings on earth, which provide awesome views of the city!
