Mom and I stayed in the Hotel Provincial in October 2003, and had a marvelous time exploring the neighborhood, seeing all the buildings. It felt a little like Paris, obviously because of the heavy French influence, with cafes and inner courtyards everywhere. The city has a distinctive feel, different from many other American cities.
