The Polynesian Cultural Center
|
Eleanor and I spent a day here. Though we could have gone it alone, we joined one of their tour groups and were able to do more than we would have otherwise. The highlights were the shows. The Tongan show featured a nose whistler, some drumming, and funny audience participation. The Samoan show has a hilarious gentleman, and joked around plenty, made fire almost instantaneously out of a coconut husk, and show some other Samoan tricks. We saw a show in the afternoon presenting the dances from each island group, and in the evening saw a larger production with more dancers, ending with a fire dance.
