Poitou-Charentes

Ask me for my greatest impression of La Rochelle, on the French west coast, and I will tell you rain. Beyond that, I remember a town with good seafood, friendly people, and good museums in the towers protecting the harbour. However, with a cold wind whipping off the Atlantic such that I couldn't even look out to the horizon, ansd drizzle almost drowning me while I searched for the hostel, those memories remain as strong as my others of La Rochelle.
