Belgium

When I lived in Germany, my parents and I would drive through Belgium on our way from Würzburg to England, but we never stopped on the way. On my first real trip, in 1988 to Brugge, I forgot to bring my camera, so there aren't any pictures of Brugge here. When I was studying in Paris, I thought I'd venture over to Belgium once more, this time to Namur. Both of these trips were accompanied by a few days in Luxembourg.

An early morning fisherman fishing in the Meuse River. Even though Namur is in the French-speaking Wallonia region of Belgium,
the architecture looks heavily influence by the Flemish. The Citadel of Namur. I spent the afternoon exploring it; it's like a big playground!
Lots of earthen fortifications, bridges, paths going in many directions, and great panoramas of Namur.
