What an incredible spring break! My friend Todd Belf-Becker said he was going down to Spain and Portugal for spring break, so I accompanied him to see the medieval city of Toledo, complete with an enormous cathedral and a labyrinth of streets no wider than alleyways, and to the grand museums of Madrid - El Prado, La Reina Sofia, and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Then it was on to Portugal, where we parted, I staying in Lisboa and he heading elsewhere in Portugal. I must say that my 3 days in Lisbon were incredible - the sights, the food, and the exotic atmosphere. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - go see Portugal! On my way back to Paris, I stopped in Basque country by the French border for a day and saw the new ultra-modern Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
