Having 3-day weekends enabled me to get around quite a bit. Though I stayed closer to France than others, I think I saw my fair portion of Western Europe. Since this is Europe, I was able to see quite distinctively different regions by only traveling a few miles beyond the French border. These trips were utterly fantastic, and on them I hiked through the Pyrenées, explored Namur's Citadel in Belgium, and ate raw herring in the Netherlands. Oh, the memories of travel!
