Ireland

Butler even sponsored a trip to Ireland. We just had to pay about £88 to go on this, since it wasn't included in our original program price. That was okay, though, since I had a blast! I hung out with Maria, Laurel, and a bunch of other Butler people from across Scotland. We took a bus tour around Dublin the first morning, and then Maria and I headed over to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, the awesome mauscripts of the 1st four books of the New Testament, in Gaelic, penned by monks in the 6th or 7th centuries. It is quite a work of art! The last morning, just before we left, I awoke and walked around the streets of Dublin, taking snapshots and admiring the city. I have quite vivid memories of that.

En route to Cairnryan, where a ferry would take us to Ireland, we could see the Isle of Arran off in the distance across the Firth of Clyde. Maria and I on the ferry to Larne, admiring the scenery from the deck. The hydrofoil made quite a wake as we left Scotland behind.
The coast of Northern Ireland nearing sunset. Dublin's Trinity College, the home of the Book of Kells Phoenix Park also has a large stag population
Since the sun sets early, I went out my final morning for some pictures. This is of the River Liffey. Dublin is famous for having colourful doors. Irish fishing boats in Howth.
